AFSC has frequently provided leadership in addressing global peace issues as they emerged and is currently providing leadership to oppose war on Iraq and the establishment of a permanent war society. In addition KC AFSC addresses a range of issues through weekly "coffeehouse" discussions of emerging issues.

The Peace March on Washington: from Camp Casey to the White House – Bill Langsdorf. An personal experience of political change.

January 12**
Weapons of Mass Deception – Craig Lubow. Craig will show the video, followed by discussion of how media has been more and more used to mislead the US public. (There will be a follow-up program in mid February.)

January 19
The Zapatista struggle in Chiapis – A C Cuppy. A C was most recently in Chiapis last summer, and will give us an update on the movement there for social justice. (We are back at the coffee house.)

January 26
"Political Parties in Israel and Palestine" – Allan Abrams and Ahmed El Sherif. The political parties in both Israel and Palestine are undergoing significant realignment. What does this mean for the peace process?
