AFSC has frequently provided leadership in addressing global peace issues as they emerged and is currently providing leadership to oppose war on Iraq and the establishment of a permanent war society. In addition KC AFSC addresses a range of issues through weekly "coffeehouse" discussions of emerging issues.

PEACE & Justice Teach-ins

When? Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.

Where? New location: Westport Coffee House, 4010 Pennsylvania

December 1: Threat to Democracy: Corporate Control of Electronic Elections -- Ben Kjelshus. Ben. A long-time Green, will give an overview and include a report on the National Summit to Save our Elections, a conference in Portland, Oregon held September 30 – October 2.

***December 15: Iraq to Palestine: music, poetry, stories & pictures of occupation and resistance – Joe Carr. ***At All Souls UU Church. Joe has just returned from Iraq and Palestine. He is a high energy, talented and inspiring voice for justice. He will educate, inspire and entertain with an evening of stories, pictures, music and poetry rooted in his experience in the struggle against US colonialism.
